Michelle Oliver and Douglas Elliman Proudly Present Downtown Los Angeles New Metropolis.
On Tuesday April 21st, 2015 Michelle Oliver attended the cocktail reception for Douglas Elliman's new development project, Metropolis. Metropolis is a highly anticipated $1 Billion dollar mixed-use project in Downtown Los Angeles that will reshape and redefine the character and skyline of Downtown Los Angeles. Developed by Greenland US Holding Inc., a subsidiary of Greenland Group, China’s largest diversified company, Metropolis Los Angeles is slated to be the largest-mixed-use development on the West Coast. Ocean Prime Restaurant in Beverly Hills hosted the event to celebrate Douglas Ellimans achievement in being selected to exclusively handle the sales and marketing at Metropolis.
“This is a very exciting time for Douglas Elliman. With our first office opening in Los Angeles, and the announcement of our partnership on this project, the timing couldn’t be better,” added Howard M. Lorber, Chairman, Douglas Elliman Real Estate.
Metropolis is being done in two phases which will consist of hotel and residential buildings all with high-end retail on the ground floor. Phase one of Metropolis Los Angeles is said to consist of a condo tower and an 18-story hotel designed by Gensler, the worlds leading collaborative design and architecture firm, and is expected to be finished sometime in 2016. While phase two, expected to open in late 2017, is a 40-story tower consisting of more than 500 condos. These condos will include studios, as well as one- and two-bedrooms, prices for the studios begin at around $600,000, but will climb to over $2 million for penthouse units. At the lower end of the price spectrum, studios start at about 526 square feet; with the two-bedroom being about 1,720 square feet. All surrounded by a huge park that will include an abundance of trees, walkways, and serene reflecting pools and fire pits.
